Ermittlung der Bildqualität H.264-codierter Videosequenzen ohne Verwendung eines Referenzsignals

This paper discusses the image quality control of H.264/AVC standard video sequences, without employment of reference signals. Reference is obtained from the data stream itself, and not from a reference signal. The paper distinguishes between full reference video checking, and quality checking based on actual data flow. A quality test algorithm is defined and comparisons are presented between actual and assessed PSNR ratio. Reports on highly efficient test implementation by statistical methods are also given.
