Information notice on research in Europe autonomics: The way to go

Abstract
An autonomic approach to control, configuration, management, security, and almost every aspect of IP-based communication is being explored by the networking research community for years. The Internet technology has been researched to interconnect computers and to allow computer assisted communication it has been facilitated by revolutionary approach to switching and consequently to packet forwarding that is extremely autonomic with in a single Internet autonomous system. The extremely autonomic forwarding happens successfully only due to extremely complex routing implemented as run time synchronization of distributed databases that are able to converge in seconds in case of failures. This vision has gained support from the Future and Emerging Technologies (FET) program of the EC, which has helped the researchers to self organize into Autonomic Communication Forum (ACF). The various S&AC funded projects are project BIONETS, project ANA, Haggle project, and project CASCADAS.
