Technology Fusion in Series Production of Lightweight Structures

The mission and strategy of technology fusion for lightweight structures is based on general problems of today environmental policy. In particular in relation to increase of energy consumption, rising material prices and the global warming. The current situation shows also an increasing complexity of manufacturing processes and production systems also tending upwards functionality of machines and complex production systems and a missing transparency as a basis of continuous improvement. Therefore, we need new approaches to handle this increasing complexity for what we use concepts of Industry 4.0.
