Smart cameras for intelligent buildings

In this contribution we will review the development of smart cameras with particular emphasis on applications in so called "intelligent" buildings. First we will outline the state of the art in this area and then embark on some new developments such as occupant sensing. Our review will be accompanied by several examples and demonstrations.
