Analysis of Thermal Wave Propagation in Coatings on Moving Objects

Thermal wave measurement by photothermal radiometry in moving layered samples is studied theoretically. A model based on an oscillating instantaneous heat source and its image charges is used. Conditions for optimized sensitivity towards thickness variations in coatings are discussed.
