Title

Compressor Cost Optimization Based on Extended Annual Load Duration Curves

Abstract
Volatile exhaust gas flows in the steel industry are potential resources to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The project Carbon2Chem® analyzes possible carbon capture and utilization processes for the gas streams of a steel mill. Therefore, compressors for volatile gas flows are required in all process concepts. The large amount and volatility of the gas as well as inert compounds contained therein make the compressors the pivotal cost block. This approach extends the annual load duration curve to optimize the compressor cost.
