Improved delocalization of higher-order modes in large-pitch fibers by breaking the symmetry

We present an enhanced large-pitch fiber design with lower symmetry which results in very high mode discrimination. This structure has been obtained by translating the non-symmetric characteristics of spiral geometries into a hexagonal lattice.
