With Rapid Prototyping Techniques a fast transformation of 3 dimensional models into concrete solid models is possible. This aspect is important for the manufacture of components with respective final properties as well. The registration and the knowledge of suitable quality features are essential requirements for the evaluation of final component suitability of Rapid Prototyping Products as well as technical and economical explanation of postprocessing strategies. In this report quality characteristics for the evaluation of Rapid Prototyping Models and methods for their preparation as a result of extensive investigations are introduced. The paper describe the Rapid Prototyping Products and the suitability of different Rapid Prototyping products for Postprocessing-Techniques.
