Title

Coverage and Reach Evaluation of Multi-Topology Mesh Networks for Emergency Communication

Abstract
This paper investigates the feasibility and scalability of a multi-topology mesh network as a high potential public safety technology for emergency communication in disaster response and civil defense. Coverage and reach of such systems are evaluated using real-world location datasets of German households, schools, and public warning sirens. The impact of key parameters, such as walking distance and communication range are investigated. The results demonstrate the potential of this approach in providing off-grid capable access points in these public locations.
