Concatenated non-binary coding with 4D constellation shaping for high-throughput fiber-optic communication

Abstract
Concatenated non-binary coding suitable for next-generation fiber-optic systems is studied. The scheme is particularly designed for shaped 4D constellations enabling significant SNR gains over conventional dual-polarized QAM schemes.
