Struktur und Funktionalität des gewässerkundlichen Messnetzes der Landesanstalt für Umweltschutz Baden-Württemberg

Central supervising and management of wide-area measuring networks are an important part of environment protection. A general system model comprising communication, information and basic application services is proposed for this type of networks. The aim of this architecture is to provide a powerful platform to support a broad range of known and future applications. Using the hydrological measurements in Baden-Württemberg as an example, structure and functionality of such a network are discussed.
