Biogas, eine neue Option für die Gaswirtschaft

In Zukunft wird die Bedeutung von Biogas als ein erneuerbarer Energieträger zunehmen. Die Studie "Analyse und Bewertung der Nutzungsmöglichkeiten von Biomasse" im Auftrag des Bundesverbandes der deutschen Gas- und Wasserwirtschaft (BGW, Berlin) und der Deutschen Vereinigung des Gas- und Wasserfachs (DVGW, Bonn) zeigt, dass sich neben der Vergärung von Reststoffen neue Chancen für Landwirtschaft und Gaswirtschaft vor allem durch den verstärkten Einsatz von Energiepflanzen (Nawaro) ergeben. Durch Aufbereitung und Einspeisung ins Erdgasnetz können zudem neue Nutzungspfade mit hoher Effizienz erschlossen werden wie z.B. der Einsatz als Kraftstoff.

Within the next years biogas will gain importance as a renewable energy source. The study "Analysis and Assessment of Utilization Pathways of Biomass" - commissioned by the Federal Association of German Gas and Water Industries (BGW) and the German Technical and Scientific Association for Gas and Water (DVGW) - indicates that besides the common fermentation of residues significant potentials will emerge with regard to the use of energy crops as biogas feedstock. Via biogas purification and feeding into the natural gas grid new applications of high efficiency can be addressed such as the automotive fuel market, offering new chances both for agriculture and gas industry.
