Prototypische Entwicklung einer affektiven Komponente für ein E-Learning-System

Trotz der rasanten technologischen Entwicklung der letzten Jahrzehnte lassen Computer Emotionen der Anwender meist unberücksichtigt, obwohl mit verschiedenen Studien ihre Bedeutung für die Mensch-Maschine-Interaktion nachgewiesen wurde. Die vorliegende Arbeit leistet einen Beitrag für das aufstrebende Forschungsgebiet Affective Computing, das sich mit dem Zusammenspiel von Emotionen und Computern beschäftigt. Es wird eine Komponente als Modul konzeptioniert, die ein bestehendes E-Learning-System affektiv erweitert. Mit Maßnahmen als Teil der Komponente wird der Anwender bei der Bewältigung negativer Emotionen unterstützt, wodurch eine höhere Zufriedenheit und ein besseres Lernen ermöglicht werden soll. Die affektive Komponente wird zudem prototypisch umgesetzt und mittels eines anschließenden Labortests bewertet.

Despite the ongoing development in technology over the past decades, computers still do not consider emotions of their users, even though many studies showed how important they are for human-computer interaction. This diploma thesis makes a contribution to Affective Computing, an emerging field of research that deals with the interplay of emotions and computers. A component is developed, which enhances an existing e-learning-system with affective abilities. By taking certain actions as a part of the component, it supports the user to handle negative emotions and should enable a better learning as well as a greater satisfaction. Furthermore, a prototype of the component was implemented and evaluated in a laboratory study.
