Car body welding with laser radiation.

In this paper some examples are discussed concerning overlap and butt welding of uncoated and zinc-coated plates with a typical thickness between 0.7 and 2 mm. The advantages of welding with polarized laser beam is discussed. An example for on-line process control is explained.
