Title

Properties of typ II ceramic dielectrics being used in multilayer capacitors

Abstract
Basic data of capacitors such as temperature coefficient of permittivity, electric strength, dielectric loss and size must meet the strict requirements of standardization. In addition there are specific composition defined material pecularities that should be known for application. Some examples are demonstrated based on recently developed X7R-type (BaTiO3 with core/shell-microstructure) and Y5V-type (Pb-perovskites) materials. In the case of X7R material attention should be payed to applied electric-field response of permittivity, especially if using them as thin ceramic layer. The Y5V material shows high mechanical displacement due to raised electrostriction coefficient.
