User evaluation challenging personalization of multimedia services

In a series of user studies the aceMedia project investigated user needs and context of use concerning an innovative multimedia management system. Among a multitude of findings, we unexpectedly found users very sceptic about personalization. We report on user feedback concerning personalization, identify relevant user requirements, and draw conclusions in which context of use personalization will be considered more or less useful.
