Title

Experimental investigations of toric resonators

Abstract
Some theoretical considerations concerning toric resonators were given. The properties of a toric unstable resonator and a hybrid toric resonator were experimentally studied. The results show that the efficiency obtained with the hybrid toric resonator is higher than with the toric unstable resonator. The maximum beam quality of both resonators is the same (K = 0.41). The toric unstable resonators displays a complicated alignment behaviour due to azimuthal mode selection properties. The hybrid toric resonator exhibits lower alignment sensitivity than the toric unstable resonator. Compared to conventional unstable resonators both toric resonators studied are more sensitive to alignment.
