Future microelectronic hardware concepts for wireless communication beyond 3G

Wireless terminals of following generations will support a broad variety of services, from voice and video transmission to email, access to the internet and advanced PC functionalities. Such a broad range of different data services and multimedia functions - requiring high-speed data transmission and high speed processing - needs a powerful microelectronic hardware. The "Fraunhofer-Institut für Mikroelektronische Schaltungen und Systeme" (IMS) is researching microelectronic hardware concepts for mobile communication devices of future generations.
