Company wide consistent and significant information on production resources is the basis for designing products and processes which in turn is related to the production capabilities of the plant. The article introduces the conception of an integrated management of resources based on a neutral information model describing specific conditions which permits the structurized reflection of all informations on resources that are relevant for the various divisions of an enterprise.
