Hydrothermal carbonization (HTC) of sewage sludge

The processing of biomass in energy, in (bio)fuels or new (bio)materials has been since recent years in the focus of research activities as well as of public interest. The basics of the most processing technologies have been known for decades if not for centuries, but due to the long period with cheap oil there has been little interest of developing these technologies.
