Rolling of unsaturated porous materials: Evolution of a fully saturated zone
Abstract
The evolution of a fully saturated zone during the rolling of unsaturated porous material was analyzed. Nonlinear convection-diffusion equation was used to express the mathematical model describing the saturation dynamics in the porous layer and were solved using finite volume techniques. The degree of saturation, fluid pressures, and fluid velocities, under the area affected by the roll were analyzed.
