Abstract
Besides its major physiologic functions pulmonary surfactant has been suggested to be involved in the regulation of airway dimensions in allergic induced bronchoconstriction. The purpose of this study was to investigate pulmonary surfactant content and composition in broncoalveolar lavage (BAL) fluids of sensitized guinea pigs after allegen challenge.
