Industrial Working Group for Lead Free Interconnection Systems in Electronics

This article gives an overview over markets and trends in current and future power supplies for portable electronic equipment and discusses their influence on the environment. Finally two projects, dealing with micro-battery and micro fuel cell technology of the Fraunhofer Institute are described to show how environmental issues are considered in early stages of product development.
