Title

Using HLA and SLX for logistical simulation

Abstract
This paper discusses the current trends within the field of manufacturing and logisics and its impact on simulation. It introduces new concepts for computer simulation. The concept of a Integrated Planning Environment allows for the exploration of new data sources for simulation. Simulation models can interpoperate by means of the High Level Architecture, and the simulation tool SLX is used to provide flexibility in the generation of the simulation model. The paper is concluded with a prototypical implementation and ideas for the application of these concepts in the field of maritime simulation.
