Title

Nichtporöser Schallabsorber für den Einsatz in Rauchgasreinigungsanlagen

Abstract
Flue gas cleaning plants call for the use of low-frequency sound absorbers in order to keep fan noises in the vicinity of the power plant within certain limits. These absorbers must be insensitive to flue gas deposits and must withstand extreme mechanical and chemical loads. They must have a minimum possible pressure drop in order not to raise the fan performance unnecessarily. A novel membrane absorber is being presented herein, which appears to be suited for such requirements. A pilot application in the flue gas desulphurization plant of the Lichterfelde Heating Power Plant (Figure 1) of BEWAG, Berlin, is to prove its usefulness splitter silencer made of high-grade steel.
