Title
Towards a Realistic Tactical Mobility Model: Characterizing the Anglova Scenario
Abstract
Tactical military systems must operate reliably in dynamic environments marked by mobility, intermittent connectivity, and variable data flows. To meet strict Quality of Service/Experience (QoS/E) for mission-critical Command and Control (C2) operations, simulation-based testing offers a cost-effective alternative to live training. A crucial component of these simulations is the mobility model, which directly impacts Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANETs) behavior and performance. Most existing models, however, lack the strategic and hierarchical movement patterns seen in real missions. The Anglova scenario, widely used for its operational relevance, offers a valuable basis for improving realism. This paper presents an in-depth characterization of Anglova Scenario Vignette 2, analyzing spatial-temporal mobility, mission roles, and inter-entity dynamics. These insights support a better understanding of mission dynamics and the development of more accurate tactical mobility models.
