Nonadaptive and adaptive differential pulse code modulation of speech signals

Results of speech encoding with DPCM are given: linear time-invariant prediction and nonlinear time-invariant quantization are applied. The mean square error of various systems has been evaluated by computer simulations using actual speech samples. These include different speakers to provide a representative average statistic.
