OSI networks as integration means for CIM applications

The use of computers for the support of human activities in enterprises as well as for the automation of industrial processes and production plants can contribute a lot to the rationalization and hence to the increase of productivity. The success depends on both the appropriate choice and composition of the CIM system and also (very strongly) on the implementation of appropriate measures in the enterprise organization, machines and production facilities.
