The conversion of old unstructured information sets into a structured form represents a major challenge in the continuing development of internal company information management not least simply because of the quantities involved. The lecture deals initially with the motivation required to carry out document reengineering in the corporate organization. This will be followed by a discussion of the fundamental considerations and questions posed, and a possible course of action will be outlined.
