Einfluss der Steifigkeit des Implantatmaterials auf die im Knochen erzeugten Spannungen

Stress distributions arising in the bony bed of a vertically or horizontally loaded lowel-shaped implant with merely interlocked fitting or firmly adhered ingrowth were analyzed with the numerical method of finite elements. In all our cases, variation of the material reception for the implant resulted in increase of stress peaks in critical ranges and a corresponding decrease in the elasticity modules. These findings therefore indicated that an "isoelastic" implant is not required.
