Durchgängige Elektronische Fahrplan-Information. DELFI

The DELFI-Approach is based on a distributed, open concept for the integration of information from different, already existing (schedule)-information systems. In order to realise the ambiguous goal of an integrated traffic information for Germany as a whole, providers of information systems, operators of integrated transport and Deutsche Bahn AG are actively engaged in the DELFI project. In the approach chosen the cooperation of independent systems is the basis for realising multimodal transport information services. The open interface architecture chosen made the cooperation of partners easier and is, at the same time, the basis for the future incorporation of more services such as ticketing, reservation and electronic means of payment and also the basis for an expansion of the information network, i.e. to international information.
