Application of coherent systems in the subscriber loop
Abstract
The prospects of optical coherent multichannel techniques application for subscriber systems of future universal public networks are described. Compared with time division multiplex systems the coherent approach promises high flexibility and reliability improvements. A star topology of the local network of the universal network is assumed.
