LOEWE-Zentrum AdRIA: Increasing the marketability of smart structure technology

Abstract
The LOEWE-Zentrum AdRIA is a large interdisciplinary research project located in Darmstadt, Germany, that is mainly funded by the government of the German federal state Hessen. The project with a total of 23 project partners aims at increasing the marketability of devices for active noise and vibration control by means of a balanced mixture of basic research, applied research, and industrial applications within the three application scenarios "adaptive car", "quiet office", and "adaptive tuned vibration absorber". This papers introduces the project structure and the aims and scope of the project, presents some examples for research results from the first project phase, and describes the plans for the rest of the second project phase.
