Improving quality of emerging technologies - embedding artificial neural networks in quality control loops

Die Verbesserung der Qualität aufkommender Technologien - Einbettung künstlicher neuronaler Netze in Qualitätsregelkreise
Abstract
One important challenge for modern manufacturing companies on the way to experience quality is the individualization and customization of products to reach the quality level the customers are expecting. New technologies like additive manufacturing are enabler for the realization of those products. Actually the new technologies have huge quality issues because of missing process experiences or the incomplete understanding of the technology. The aim of this research is to find methods to plan and control the processes which are executed by new technologies without the time-consuming gaining of experiences or the awaiting of research results that explain detailed coherences inside the processes steps. The developed methods can increase the quality level in new technology processes and additionally support the quick use of new technologies for customized products.
