Manufacturing systems planning and programming in a CIM environment

This paper reports on two ESPRIT projects (623 and 2202). The first one (started in 1985) was finished in 1990. Results and benefits of this project therefore can be presented in detail. Additionally the application spectrum of the realised systems and tools is outlined. For the second project which was started in May 1989 the objectives and the state of affairs after the first projcet year are described.
