Title

Schritthaltende Berechnung von Bildstrukturen für unterschiedliche Auflösungen

Other Title
Real-time computation of image structures for different resolutions
Abstract
In order to facilitate the sofware development for complex tasks in machine vision, one needs special purpose computers which perform very time consuming computations, e.g. the detection of intensity changes in images, as quickly as possible. For this purpose the functions of the IITB image processing system VISTA have been extended and new dialogue operations for the image evaluation system KIBAS are implemented. Gradient magnitude and direction and the maxima of the gradient magnitude in gradient direction can be computed and visually represented both in real-time using a combined VISTA-KIBAS system. The effects of continuously variable threshold operations and of four different convolution kernels can be observed on a screen without visible time lag. Using some special dialogue components, interactively selected ranges of the gradient magnitude or direction can be coded by any colour for real-time presentation on a monitor.
