Title

Development and validation of a FMEA-driven software tool for improvement of product engineering quality

Abstract
This paper proposes an innovative tool which supports the improvement of quality in early phases of product design. The conceivment of this tool is following the FMEA methodology. The development process is detailed presented and the validation of the concept is compliant with the automotive industry standards published by Automotive Industry Action Group, and not only. The use case presented shows the benefits of the software tool for a Romanian company as a supplier of automotive industry. A road map for the migration of the tool use to an OEM in automotive industry is presented as well.
