Title

Field Emission Characteristics of Different Geometries with Diamond-like Carbon Coatings

Abstract
In this paper the field emission behavior of DLC-coated tungsten needles is investigated in comparison to planar geometries. Analysis of the measured IU-characteristics confirm the overlapping of geometry- and material-based field enhancement. The degradation of DLC covered needles appears slower than for DLC layers on planar geometries.
