Generating vapour mixtures for calibration purposes. I. Static pneumatic dosing system

The setup and function of a semi-automatic dosing system is described, which allows the batchwise transfer of predictable portions out of a pressurized gas volume onto air sampling devices, e.g., sorption tubes. At hand of the performance test with vapour mixtures containing benzene, toluene, tetrachlorethene, 2- and 3-xylene, the proper function with respect to correctness and reproducibility is shown. Some further experiments serve for sketching the field of applicability and the limitations of the system.
