A comprehensive approach for creating high-quality requirements and specifications in automotive projects

In the automotive domain, the increasing complexity of software demands high-quality specifications tailored to the needs of the stakeholders involved in the development process. In particular, the quality criteria requested from standards such as IEEE Std. 830-1998 have to be achieved. It is a non-trivial task to satisfy all of them with one approach. In this paper, we present such an approach that integrates, templates, guidelines, inspection and traceability techniques as well as tools to achieve the desired quality.
