Abstract
Legal requirements for materials and articles intended to come into contact with foodstuffs are being approximated within the European Community. The EC directives are transferred into national laws. The present status of the EC regulations as well as new testing requirements raise a number of questions by producers and users of these materials and articles. It is the aim of this paper to answer some of these questions.
