PPC Layout and Order Net - Visualization for a Rapid PPC Analysis and Design

The visualization of value chains forms the central basis for the analysis and design of order processing, as well as its planning and control. As a de facto standard, the visualization ‘value stream’ offers a good introduction to understanding current and target concept of the PPC. However, especially in the case of single-item manufacturers, the article-based - often single-stage - view of isolated value streams reaches its limits, because the much more important logistic dependencies from a resource and order perspective are not shown.
The proposed visualization methods in this paper ‘PPC layout’ and ‘order net’ use simple basic elements and show these dependencies to derive PPC requirements. This gives the necessary basic orientation for the order processing design and its planning and control from the rough to the fine PPC concept.
