Vorverarbeitung von Grauwertbildern in Fernsehgeschwindigkeit mit programmierbaren Filtern.

This paper describes the features of a hardware system which allows preprocessing of greyscale images at TV speed by programmable localized operations. The architecture of this system, especially the combination of cascadable processing modules, permits the realization of operator masks with variable size and shape. Several masks can be connected in series and/or in parallel with a maximum of 64 window elements as sum of all mask sizes. At the present time modules for linear operators exist while such for rank filters are being developed. The system was designed as a stand alone unit with standard CCIR input/output signals. Programming and communication with the operator is implemented on a hardware-independent level through a CRT terminal or a standard serial interface. (IITB)
