Title

Managing Multiple Image Stacks from Confocal Laser Scanning Microscopy

Abstract
Software that manages the handling and evaluation of n-dimensional image data from confocal laser scanning microscopy or video microscopy was developed. Using alignment algorithms the software allows the mounting of image stacks with respect to their original spatial arrangement and subsequently the 3D-navigation through the acquired image volume at any zoom factor. The user may select individual channels and z-layers within the image volume from which he may define new subvolumes for further morphological 3D-analysis. Several tools for image restoration, which may be applied for each channel and layer separately, are also implemented. Other features concern algorithms for the reduction of computerized data and speeding up of the data transmission between various data carriers.
