Applied virtual reality - IGD's VR development environment and applications

This paper presents an overwiew of virtual reality system technology developed within the Fraunhofer Demonstration Centre for VR and a number of application projects with industry partners. The Virtual Design II development environment including various pre-processing and editing tools is introduced and its benefit for the realization of efficient and hiegh-quality virtual worlds is highlightes. A broad range of applications demonstrate the usability of our system, which enables new dimensionsin computer-supported applications.
