Single-chip implementation of an ISO/MPEG Layer III decoder

This paper describes the implementation of an ISO/MPEG-11172 Layer III Decoder on the new INTERMETALL DSP MASC 3500. All funcionality and memory to decode the Layer III bitstream is provided on chip, resulting in an extremely cost effective solution that is well suited for consumer applicatons.
