Abstract
Studies were performed on thermal treatments of particulate foods by microwave application. For getting sterile products microwave treatment had to be performed under counter pressure. Aggregation and geometry of particulate foods influenced the temperature distribution which could be visualized by means of immobilized bio-indicators like bacteria or enzymes.
