Geographical application of smart market designs to European regions

This report describes the applying of the smart-market-concepts of [1] on European regions at NUTS-2 level. For this purpose, the focus of the report is clearly on describing and increasing the geographical database on regional wind energy, photovoltaics (PV) and electricity consumption in Europe, rather than on analysing or elaborating the smart market concepts. The methodological approach aims to support the scientific discussion on the Europe-wide implementation of smart markets. The resulting map may be used as a hint for appropriate regional electricity markets in Europe.
