This paper deals with the different media and technologies which are used for the distribution of signals and power in automotive powernets. The major topics are the possibilities of new technologies like flexible flat cables and molded interconnect devices as well as optical fibres. Additional points are the use of multiplex systems like CAN of FlexRay. Finally there is also an excurse about the production and testing of standard and new technology wire harnesses.
