Abstract
In the first part the basic structure of the data processing system is described in detail. Based on a description of the program-components and the underlying universal principles concerning the structure of programm-surface, basic data and standard functions, the mechanisms of data input, modification and documentation for every individual data object with its special contents and functions are explained. The program functions to carry out a life cycle inventory are explained with practical examples, according to the working steps constructing, calculating, assessing and evaluating a life cycle as well as checking and recording the results. In the second part the basic mathematical principles of the data processing system and the requirements concerning the modelling of life cycles are presented. Information is given on the modelling of life cycle scenarios and its support by the data processing system. The third part treats details on program installation and the subsequent work of a software administrator.
